Jonstar’s Partnership with Ecologi

Ecologi work with businesses to accelerate high-impact global climate action. We at Jonstar are proud to be part of this fantastic organisation, and to help make a difference in restoring our planet since 2021. We have funded towards reforestation, habitat restoration, renewable energy projects, carbon avoidance and removal. So far, our contributions have helped towards the planting of 765 trees & 69.55tCO2 emissions avoided. Below are just a few examples of some of the climate-changing projects we have been a part of:

Peatland restoration and conservation in Indonesia:
Peatlands are among the most valuable ecosystems on Earth – when these unique habitats are cleared, drained or burned, the carbon stored within them is released into the atmosphere as carbon dioxide. Protecting them through land preservation and fire prevention is a prime opportunity to manage global greenhouse gases.

Protection of the Matavén forest in eastern Colombia:
Forests are powerful carbon storehouses, and this project will prevent around 3,622,352 tonnes of CO₂e emissions per year, during its 30 year lifespan. This project also helps by employing the local population as rangers and supporting the development of sustainable livelihoods!

Solar power project in Morocco:
On top of preventing 33,775 tonnes of CO₂e emissions each year, this project has also helped the local community – the construction of it provided almost 7,000 local jobs. The project additionally organises a mobile hospital to provide health services to the local community, as well as making financial contributions to the local medical centre, and the purchase of a school minibus for the local community which has helped to reduce school drop-out rates.
